Junior and Senior Kindergarten Programs
Our team of Registered Early Childhood Educators and Certified Teachers develop a program where every child is invited to learn through play and socialization.
Young children enter school with an eagerness to learn. Essential learning and development occurs between the ages of birth to 6 years in all areas including: physical, social and emotional, cognitive, and communication and language. Our teachers develop the classroom program with the understanding that each child comes to us with their own interests and strengths, that need to be fostered and nurtured.
The learning areas in the JK SK Classroom include:
- A large/open Art Studio with numerous mediums to facilitate each child‘s artistic expression.
- An inclusive Library and writing area with computer access that allows the child an opportunity to develop and embrace their love of literacy.
- A Science & Sensory area that invites each child to build upon their own reasoning and problem solving skills through exploration with teacher guided activities.
- A Drama/Home Living centre where the children are offered a wide variety of opportunities to use props, puppets and dress up clothes while role playing, socializing and expressing their feelings.
- The Engineering & Construction area encourages the Kindergarten Child to explore the application of science and math by which the properties of matter and sources of energy in nature are applied through the use of blocks, ramps, building materials and more.
- Our Work Station is where the class practices their printing and reading skills, numerical concepts and social studies while working in their journals.
